Introduction

The Director Identification Number (DIN) is the special ID you need to become a director in any company. In the past, obtaining a DIN was a one-time process with e-Form DIR-3, but now, in order to maintain your active and up-to-date DIN, you must annually file your KYC information using e-Form DIR-3 KYC. Ensure your information is kept current and secure by regularly updating it with the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) to maintain an up-to-date registry.

Purpose of the Form DIR-3 KYC

The yearly update through Form DIR-3 KYC ensures everything stays current and running smoothly! After obtaining their DIN, directors are required to inform all their companies about it using Form DIR-3B within a month. At the same time, the Secretary and Manager of the company must provide their PAN to the company. Following receipt of this information, the company must provide the Registrar with the directors’ DIN details using Form DIR-3C within a 15-day period. The main focus is maintaining alignment within the business world and making sure all documents are current!
